RACICE 2022 RECAP
All six crews got off the line well, with Australia holding a small lead on the field after the first quarter of the race. At the halfway mark, four crews started to separate with Great Britain taking a slight lead over Australia, China and the Netherlands. The British continued to extend their lead in the second half of the race, winning by one length over a sprinting Dutch crew. Australia won the bronze over Romania and China.

2023 SEASON RECAP
There have been several strong crews so far in 2023, with Romania leading the way with wins at the European Championships and World Cup III, and the United States winning gold at World Cup II. Following closely behind those two crews was the defending world champion British four, winning three medals and strengthened this season with the addition of two-time Olympic champion Helen Glover. Also medaling this season were the Australians and the Netherlands.
USA PROSPECTS
The United States women's four is the priority sweep boat for the American women in 2023. Claire Collins and Maddie Wanamaker won bronze in the pair last year and doubled up as the stern pair of the eight that finished fourth. Kelsey Reelick and Molly Bruggeman were the bow pair in the eight last year. The crew won World Cup II in Varese, and will be one of the medal favorites in Belgrade in an event with a lot of high quality competition. A top seven finish at Worlds will qualify the United States in this event for the Paris Olympic Regatta.
MEDAL PICKS
This event is wide open with at least six crews in the mix for the podium and another three or four capable of making the A final. Romania, Great Britain, and the United States are the three most likely podium finishers, but Australia, the Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, and Denmark should be in the mix for the final. The B Final should be good with only the winner qualifying for Paris.
GOLD – GREAT BRITAIN
SILVER – UNITED STATES
BRONZE - ROMANIA
